Fallout 3 and New Vegas Modding Guide. New Vegas, What is the best way to make money? Its my first time playing. I am a noob. How do you get t the end of the game and have low funds, ammo and armor??? Do you just rush through it without killing or picking up shit? I honestly have no idea how you can pull this off.

Having money and ammo in New Vegas is the easiest thing you can do, other than killing mole rats. I've always scraped by with next to nothing.

I get everything through Jury Rigging and snowglobes. I always have a ton of caps partly because I never want to spend any of them, and don't unless the ammo is for a weapon i am currently using. I'm level 29, beat the main quest and only have caps. May have something to do with the fact that I spend all my money on new toys read: Through a Rock-It Launcher. Smokes, Drugs, Pre-War Money are good to pick up, they weigh bugger all and sell well.

Make sure you remember you can trade pre war money in stead of caps, i love to do it instead of using caps. I remember when I did it in Oblivion and somehow made it through without leveling up. It was my first game of the Bethesda brand and I still have no idea how I did it. You had to sleep to level up in Oblivion.

If you're not used to that sort of thing, it could be pretty easy to do it by accident Assuming you weren't questioning why the clanfears were continuously wrecking your shit. Yeah I questioned that a lot.

I found out after I finished the main story line that I was supposed to level up. I hadn't played since Arena and wasn't really familiar with the system. Twas a good game but I couldn't go left or right without getting thwamped.

There's a group of Vampires that kick the shit out of you during the Mythic Dawn quests that forced me to go and level up. I remember I was scared shitless of the first oblivion portal as a kid so I went and leveled up doing a tonne of side quests and fighting arena stuff. Finally get around to doing the portal and all the NPC guard companions got one shot by the leveled daedra. No-bark Noonan and Dennis Crocker each have 2, caps available to win and it's renewable, no limit to the times you can play them.

How is this not at the top? For new players caravan is the easiest way to make money. There are like 11 caravan players in the game find them and play and now you have over 10, caps. It's incredibly easy, just buy all the high cards you find and all the jacks and kings as well, then watch a 5 minute youtube explanation of how to play and that's it.

You just need to make a deck made out of 10,9,7 then fill in the rest and when played discard everything that is not a 10,9,7. Then make stack of I used this strategy personally: What kind of question is this! You make a character with a min of 7 luck then you hit the strip get roughly caps get a luck implant and take the casinos to the cleaners!

If you know blackjack, you can do it faster. I cleared my first casino with just doubledowns and damn it took some time. You can get away with a bit less for blackjack. When I had 10, I'd get almost to the limit with blackjack then move to the slots. Nothing like being 50 chips short of the limit then getting 3 oranges. Also, if you are willing to befriend the legion, there are the lucky shades in their safehouse. I like the ncr, so I just steal enough dog tags to get them to like me and then go about my business.

I've got Luck 10 and the only game that actually ends up paying out is blackjack and that's because I'm actually good at blackjack. Theirs a clinic around the strip I think on the east side, that has implants that can increase your S. L they cost about caps each. You can get as many implants as your base endurance. Alternately like some have sort of mentioned you can loot every thing from the tables of the Silver Rush just pick it up take it to the back and it's all good. It's easy as hell once you know how.

Here a a few examples, but there are many more. There are multiple Caravan players out in the wastes who you can also trade with. You can raise the stakes of your game high enough to win all of their money in a single match, spend the money you've just won on their entire stock of guns, armor, mods, chems and ammo, and then win all of the money you just spent back.

If you do not know how to play caravan, I wrote this up a little while ago. Once you get the hang of it you should be able to win every single hand, easily. It can make you fifteen to twenty thousand caps per shopkeeper with very little effort and with any level of character.

I recommend hitting up Cliff Brascoe in Novac, and Lacey in the Mojave Outpost as they are the two largest shops in the game that you can play with. Make sure you do not lose a game because there is a limit to the amount of times a shopkeeper is willing to play Caravan.

They have metal boxes marked as containers used to store armor in all around their territory. These boxes contain a decently repaired suit of Combat Armor, and occasionally a Combat Helmet as well. These armors are excellent if used in mid game, and can sell up to two to three thousand caps apiece depending on your Barter skill. There are loads of boxes in the Nellis Hanger, and there are even more in Loyal's Shack, the adjacent workshop shack, and in the various residences in the area.

I believe I gotten up to about 13 suits of armor on one of my luckiest runs, which is upwards of 26, caps worth of loot. While you are at it, go ahead and clean out the Boomer's Armory located next to the mess hall, the box of Plasma Grenades and the Grenade Launcher alone are worth quite a bit. Knight is renown for being a great place to repair all of your gear to max condition, however not many people seem to realize that he keeps all of the caps you spend on him.

All you have to do to make staggering amounts of cash is find some gear I recommend taking out some Fiends, they carry Laser Rifles, Plasma Rifles and Hinting Rifles and they aren't that tough to take out , have Knight repair them all to max, and then steal your money back. If you do not have a high enough sneak it may take a few tries, should they catch you just leave, fast travel to Primm, wait a while and come back to try again.

If you're worried about your NCR rep use a Stealthboy, or abuse saves if you don't mind exploiting the game. You can make well over twenty thousand caps by repairing the inventory you can steal from the Silver Rush alone, and that's not even accounting for all of the loot you will naturally find throughout the game. Anyone with a Luck of 7 or higher has insane odds at Blackjack tables. Each casino you visit Gommorah 9, chips, Ultra Luxe 15, chips, The Tops 10, chips, The Vikki and Vance 2, chips, and the Atomic Wrangler 5, chips has a limit on the amount of caps you can win before they kick you out.

In total you can make over forty thousands caps, plus you will be showered with gifts including Reinforced Combat Armor and Reinforced Leather Armor that can net you an easy four to five thousand caps if sold.

It's not much compared to some of the other ways to make money, but 2, caps for some useless pre-war knicknack isn't something you should pass up! Make sure you collect all seven of the Snowglobes and sell them to House. While some may be out of the way, such as the one in Jacobstown, most are pretty easy to get your hands on. For instance their are three in the Vegas area alone.

One is in Vault 21 gonna need to pick a Hard lock for this one, I believe. Or you can always pickpocket the key , one is in the Mormon Fort in Freeside, and one is in the Lucky 38 itself.

Coupled with the Goodsprings Snowglobe that everyone picks up that's eight thousand caps right there. Piss off the legion as early as you can kill Vulpes Inculta and the other legionaries in Nipton. After that, they will start sending 4-man Assassin Sqads after you. Kill them, loot them, and sell their shit.

By the end of the game, I don't know what to do with all the money I have. Yeah, but it hurts when they use it on you. I had one play through where I skipped Nipton, and picked up Boone by about level 5 or so.

I then circled back to do some stuff in that area, and forgot I had Boone with me when I went into Nipton. No big deal, until the hit squads showed up around level 10 or so, and had super sledges and brush guns.

My first run through was an NCR one. Walked out of Nipton feeling pretty good about showing those recruit Legionaries and Vulpes what for. Got caught in an ambush by some vipers, no bigge, pop into vats and pan through the available targets. Two Veteran Legionaries, one Centurion, and a Praetorian are frozen mid stride, three already aiming at me and a forth barreling down the road with a super sledge at the ready.

Part of my issue with money sometimes is finding vendors that can afford all my shit. Any people with lots of caps? Yeah, I run into the same problem. What I end up doing is make the circuit between all the towns, Gun Runners, and NCR trading posts Mojave and That lets me sell a good chuck of my stuff, but by the end of the game, it is hard to keep my inventory empty enough for all the stuff I'm looting.

Go to black mountain, kill some super mutants, they always carry something worthy of selling no matter the level. Farming miniguns and super sledges and then fixing them works well for me atleast.

Do you have the Dead Money DLC? You have the opportunity to make more money than you will ever know what to do with at the end.

Fallout: New Vegas - Infinite Caps Glitch/Exploit (PS3/XBOX/PC) 2017

You have to go through some serious shit to get there, though. I thought it was near-impossible to get all of it out, though, because of how much it all weighed.

There's ways to take home the big haul. Plenty of video tutorials and such online if you take a look. Not to mention other perks of completing the DLC. I'll have to look around once I finally get that far. I'm close to being able to take it on without getting hopelessly slaughtered but I'm not taking any chances.

Here's what you're going to do. You're going to buy every 10, 9, and 7 you come across. They appear only under the trader's name in their inventory, when their full inventory appears. The cards are 30 caps each, more or less. In caravan, you and the opposite player lay three "caravans", or decks, and the first one to get two "caravans" at 26 points win.

Now, you're going to play that bartender at the mojave outpost and cliff briscoe at novac. They have as much money as their inventory, so make sure to buy their stuff, so they have more money to gamble with, and later on you can sell their stuff to other people, making even more money. Bear in mind you can only play with them 5 or 6 times, so make sure to play them when they're stacked. You're going to save first, then you're going to go into the match, make your deck it needs 30 cards, fill the rest with Ks and Js and whatever else , and raise their money to double what they offer.

They won't match what you raised, but it doesn't matter. Now this is important. BEFORE you lay a card you can discard the cards you see.

You're going to keep discarding till your hand has 3 9s, 3 10s and 2 7s. First you have to set your "caravans" three decks , so lay the 10s. Because they went, they'll choose one of the three caravans of theirs to add cards. You're going to pick the opposite caravans, the ones where they have the least ammount of points. Put a 9 in each of the opposing.

Forget the other one. After you place each 9, put a 7 in them. After you put the last one, you win! Now, it might happen that they put a K or a J in there. If so, that's what your Ks and Js are for. Ks double the points of the placed card, and Js remove that card. It's more complicated than that, so you might wanna read about it. But what I advise you is, if that happens, just reload. Most of the time, they won't bother.

Plus, you can sell their shit to other vendors! Play these two that I mentioned till you can't play anymore wait and re-stack their inventories before playing again!!!! That should get you close to , even more, if you're abusing their inventory and selling their shit. But if you're broke early on, you'll get to or so, which is enough to get the implants at the new vegas medical clinic. Get the luck implant first and foremost. You can only get as many implants as you have endurance, and the endurance implant doesn't add to the total.

So keep that in mind. DO NOT PLAY AGAINST JOHNSON NASH AND NO-BARK NOONAN! Their AI is much better, so this trick doesn't work! Well, it works, but you need a fucking stack of something like 8 10s, 8 9s, 8 7s, 8 Ks and 8 Js, have to know the strategy, and need some luck. The other guys you can play against have only crap, usually only thousands of caps, so don't bother. Play those two and you're set. Exchange caps for chips and play blackjack.

The cards will keep favoring you. If you're under 18, draw a card. Look into the wiki what's the limit before being banned, and go near it. After you get near the limit, save and play the roulette and gamble all on one number till you hit the jackpot.

Do this for the 5 casinos and, together with the caravan money, you'll get close to , I personally don't bother with the roulette, as I don't have to keep reloading with the blackjack, and , from the casinos is enough for me.

If you don't have enough luck you should have, this is las vegas, luck is the most important stat , another way to make money is to loot the super mutants at black mountain and repair their stuff with a weapon repair kit. You can buy parts for the weapon repair kit for something like 50 caps, and a fully repaired super sledge sells for or so, depending on your barter. You can kill the Gun Runner's guards and take their weapons and armor and walk back to the shop and sell it all to the robot.

Then just fast travel to another place and wait for 3 days and you can do it over and over again.

Kind of cheating but hey, it works! Give it to me smoothskin, I'll invest it. I used to do that money stuff pre-war. Just give me all your bottle caps and I'll get back to ya in double say, 3 days tops!? After all, I'll only be out of town for maybe a few hours. C'mon you can trust an old ghoul! Killing the Gun Runner guards and selling all there stuff to the Gun Runner Protectron gives you about caps, that's a quick way for me.

I have over k caps at level 50 completely legit. Caps are so easy it kind of feels bad. I can repair all the armor I want and buy any weapon I want. The easiest thing to do is get your repair up and just repair shit.

Then get the jury rigger perk and you will never run out of caps. Repairing a broken anti material rifle with a full condition varmit rifle is so satisfying. But seriously caps are almost never an issue. You should've set your luck to 10 then hit the casinos. It's what I do every time and I never run out of caps. Waste of special points. You can max out at all the casinos with 6 luck and the naughty nightware.

Find the snowglobes for a quick boost in caps. Use high luck and gamble. I usually just loot around, find decent weapons or pry them from my enemies' cold dead hands and sell them.

Some perks also make it easier to loot caps. Sell ammo for weapons you don't use. How much exploring have you done? Some caves have quite a bit of loot in them that you can acquire.

Vault 34 and Bloodborne Caves come to mind Vault 34 has a ton of guns, Bloodborne Cave has some guns and a lot of caps in some chests. It's really efficient to pick up and max out Repair early on. That way you can pick a lot of shit up and repair it. This makes each item cost much more when fixed, and also saves you a lot of weight. I always take 9 or 10 luck, cuz I like to play melee crit characters.

It also helps with clearing out all the casinos once you get there. It's a ton of pretty easy money. Get high repair and the jury rigging perk and massacre NCR troops for their gear. I made k in like an hour. Completely broken, but everyone loves it. Your equipment will not only always be at the highest quality, but every 20 minutes or so you should have a few thousand caps worth of shiny new guns and armours to sell. Works only once though.

I scavenged and sold the bounty to traders, especially when the Legion sent assassins after me. Ended the game with over , caps.

New Vegas, What is the best way to make money? : Fallout

I mean, you have to fight tooth and nail for it, but the sheer amount of valuable loot in that fucking hellhole makes it all worth it. I ended up with k caps on my first run through the Divide, and I frequently go back there if I feel the need for a challenge. Alternatively, get Raul as a companion. Put at least 8 points in luck and clear all the casinos. Do the dead money DLC as early as you can and you will NEVER have to worry about being broke anymore. If you do it right, you can get all the gold bars from the vault and clear the casino itself.

And loot every single room and object you happen to find. Cliff Briscoe, Ringo, and the lady behind the counter in the NCR base where you meet Cass. Thousands of caps yours for the taking. I wonder if you can rob a casino Have high repair and the jury rigging perk.

Go to a merchant, buy all their stuff, fix it, sell it back to them. Get you luck up and go gamble at the casinos. Once your luck is high enough you're pretty much guaranteed to win almost all black jack games. You steal anything and everything you lay your eyes on and pawn it to anyone who has the caps for it. If it has a cap: Don't forget you can drag items until no one can see you so you can steal with out turning them hostile.

I had no idea how much money could be made until I did a "klepto" playthrough. I never wanted for caps. Also, being able to repair weapons can make you a TON of money, if you pay just a little bit of attention to their value. Whether it's repairing with identical weapons, jury rigging or weapon repair kits, a lot of fairly common weapons become worth 3,, caps if they're in full condition and you have a high barter.

Figure you pick up a commonish weapon or buy one that's worth , invest a hundred caps in repair kits or make them yourself , and it's worth 4, Not a bad investment. Also, pay attention to how much things are worth compared to how much they weigh. Pick up light, valuable things, don't waste your time on heavy, cheap stuff. Lastly, go kill bad guys, and loot their stuff. Take a stroll through fiend territory or something.

On PC it's the more perks mod and when you level up you pick Where's My Pants. Who ever thought of the snowglobes while developing nw is dumb af. He should be fired immediately. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy.

This is an archived post. You won't be able to vote or comment. You HAD to try. I have like 50 pre war money right now, and just sold like 40 cartons of cigarettes. I was so pissed. Sometimes you're thankful you stockpile stimpacks. That was one of those times. Gun runners, usanagi, the casinos, Chet, primm. Just like real life. Unless you're talking the less obvious rewards? So much reloading until I got it right.

Max Luck Step 2: Why did they still steal my underpants? Then, you're going to play caravan, and make a deck consisting solely on those cards. Also side missions for caps. Or did you already use up all the casinos? If you have a high enough luck gamble. Posts are automatically archived after 6 months.
